Season 2025: Cinnamon Magic. Everyday life, Chance, Glue. Daniel Spoerri

Following Daniel Spoerri's sudden death, the 2025 season was dedicated to a Spoerri solo exhibition, featuring works from as many periods of his career as possible.

The exhibition owes its title to a loan from the Museum Morsbroich (Leverkusen, Germany). The twenty »Cinnamon Magic preserves«, created in 1968/69 on the Greek island of Symi, mark a turning point in Daniel Spoerri's work. He wanted to break away from his »snare pictures« and turned to assemblages made from simple everyday objects and found items: shoes, a piece of rope, bones, horns, iron parts…

This group was the centerpiece of the exhibition. 

In addition to early works from private and museum collections, the exhibition also includes assemblages from various series (Détrompe l’oeil, Multiples, »Tiroirs«, »Boites à lettres«, etc.) that have not yet been shown in the exhibition space, as well as large-format assemblages, including two works from the "Corps en morçeaux" series from the Lower Austrian State Collections.
